After seasons of higher and higher heels, fashion has come back down to earth – a trend reflected in Longchamp’s Autumn 2014 shoe collection, which spotlights a stunning array of flat-heeled styles.
First up, the season’s must-have loafer, which rests on a chunky crepe platform sole that’s both comfortable and cutting-edge. Fashionistas are sure to fall for the leopard-print version in baby calf (available in carmine, camel, mint and iron), but there are stylish alternatives too in suede calf or glossy glazed leather.
Leopard print also features on another of the collection’s standout styles: a luxe running shoe in baby calf with patent trim and a discreet wedge sole to add a sneaky centimetre or two in height! The same design comes in a chic all-black version and in a sophisticated patchwork of leathers, including faux shagreen.
Longchamp has also revised its classics, and the collection offers – among other stylish low-heeled options – a hi-top sneaker in suede and smooth calf leather, a pointed-toe ballerina, an authentic biker boot with nickel buckles, and a timeless Chelsea boot in supple lambskin, available in a variety of colours.
Though the focus is on flats, no season would be complete without a tempting choice of heels, and Longchamp obliges with an on-trend bootie in leopard-print baby calf or velvet goatskin with shagreen-styled trim. A high, slender heel and pointed toe make this one of the most feminine models in the collection, and a perfect partner for the season’s short skirts, structured dresses and cropped pants. For evening, meanwhile,
the cutely named Too Night line features a sexy peep-toe bootie, again in velvet goatskin with shagreen-styled trim in a changing colourway.
Fabulous flats, desirable heels. Step out in style with Longchamp’s Autumn 2014 shoe collection.
