A beloved American comic strip meets an American heritage brand in a playful collaboration with Charles M. Schulz’s internationally renowned Peanuts characters.

Coach X Peanuts is the first in a series of limited edition projects celebrating the New York luxury brand’s heritage and lightness of spirit. Creative Director Stuart Vevers began with two classic images of Snoopy that perfectly captured the warmth of Schulz’s charismatic beagle, then juxtaposed him and other beloved Peanuts characters against a bold, elemental color palette of black, white and “Woodstock yellow.” Vevers’ vision was to create dark, subverted versions of these familiar icons.

The collection of bags and accessories is beautifully crafted in Coach’s original Glove Tanned Leather and embossed with Schulz’s early Peanuts drawings. Satchels, totes and duffles in a range of sizes comprise the key silhouettes; these are complemented with coordinating folios, wallets, key chains and bracelets. Edgy offerings include black leather Snoopy dolls and T-shirts bearing a ghost-like reverse print of the character. Each piece in this exclusive and extremely limited edition collection will come with a signature Coach Storypatch noting its number in the series.

Coach X Peanuts will launch exclusively at Paris boutique colette on October 13th, followed by a broader launch online at Coach.com on October 24th, and in selected Coach stores by November 1.

This partnership also introduces the launch of the first official Coach app on October 22nd, which will initially be available in the US, Canada, UK, France, Spain, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The Coach app will be available on iPhone and will allow users to discover the playful side of Coach by exploring and browsing limited edition collections, playing with interactive features and finding a Coach store near them. To celebrate Coach x Peanuts, the app includes exclusive features enabling users to get photobombed by the Peanuts characters, capture the Peanuts at play and discover their inner Peanuts with a quiz to share with friends.

“Coach has for so many years been an American institution so it seems fitting to honor that heritage with iconography that captures moments in American pop culture. Peanuts and Snoopy were a rite of passage for a generation and continue to be so emotive – there’s a particular image of joyful Snoopy that I’ve always loved and have in our studio that manages to capture so much feeling and emotion in a sketch. I was intrigued by the idea of taking that image and playfulness but subverting it. A rebellious spirit is contrasted with reassuringly natural Coach leather to create something unexpected,” comments Stuart Vevers.
