”The house is a machine for living.” So spoke the architect Le Corbusier of his life’s work, with a poetic pragmatism that materializes in the Villa Savoye, an exceptional home built in 1929 in Poissy, France.

Today Clare Waight-Keller draws from its fluid curves and stark geometries to inform the Chloé Spring 2015 collection, imbued with a delicate balance of light rawness and architectural finesse.

Photographed in movement throughout the Villa’s network of airy, colour-blocked interiors, the collection exhibits a voluminous, textural ease and a silhouette rich in relaxed geometries. Languid lines float away from the body in the tiered proportions of a flared skirt or butterfly sleeve, remaining cool and sensual with a t-shirt ease. Wrapped and bateau necklines frame the shoulders and décolleté, while leather or sash belts cinch the waist of blouses and dresses cut in cotton poplin and silk gauze, muslin and crepe.
