Following the fast rhythms of the world, the Fall | Winter 2015 collection for men offers a modern interpretation of iconic models from the Maison.
En route to and from work, or for more recreational travel, the new proposals become personal yet eclectic objects to meet the increasing needs of the contemporary man, whilst maintaining the supreme leather quality and workmanship, from which emerge the unmistakable craftsmanship, functionality and unique design of the products; all facets embedded within the signature of the brand.
The collection commences with the 24h “Costa” briefcase, directly inspired by the eponymous travel line created for the international voyageur in 1964. Evoking the features of the original set of luggage, the attaché comes with edges painted in contrasting tones and is polished by hand – a detail that has become one of the codes behind the brand. This briefcase incorporates the four corners of reinforcement as well as a rigid handle; truly making it a tribute to the classic and ever elegant travel collection. Lightweight and equipped with a series of internal pockets for pens, mobile phone or tablet, and a detachable shoulder strap, the bag becomes an even more practical piece and more so suitable to the man who is always on the move.
Created for short trips taken by plane, a new edition of the classic “Avietta,” the first piece of luggage created by Valextra in 1961, is introduced. Specifically designed to hold a change of clothes for 48h and enter into the overhead compartment on a plane are what create the two characteristics which justify the nickname: “Pilot Bag.” Taking its shape from its forerunner, Valextra launches the new “Soft Avietta,” with more adjustable and adaptable aesthetics, a lighter weight and removable shoulder strap. Supple and comfortable, the “Soft Avietta” is reaffirmed as functional hand luggage with double zips allowing for easy access into the bag, two large external pockets and several compartments tucked away in the interior.
Revisiting tradition, the season introduces another new style, combining the concept of a briefcase with a new interpretation of the “Triennale” bag, from which this new style secures its name. The modern touch is given by the game of asymmetries created by the differing size of the quadrants and by the cuts of the frontal flap, making the shapes vaguely trapezoidal along with a removable shoulder strap. The line of “Triennale” briefcases is composed by two variations: one with two gusset and the other with a single compartment and a decidedly masculine touch; meant for those who love the timeless classic.
Defined by a rectangular silhouette with two comfortable handles to carry, or loop onto the shoulder, is the shape of the new “Milano" tote, made of the unprecedented “Butter” leather whilst combining the classic reinforced corners, and “V” shaped profiles: iconic details of the Italian brand that are added to the rivets covered in leather, the metal components and suede lining. Inside, flat and zip pockets are found, completing this model, with a dedication to the discerning man who prefers accessories as more multitasking and informal.
The “All in One” travel wallet and new A4 Portfolio are specifically designed to envelope all men’s essentials. Despite dimensions, the wallet is capable of carrying personal documents, credit cards and banknotes within its classic wallet interior, passport holder, business card holder alongside other core compartments. The second accessory is a zip around document holder allowing for A4 sized folders and enriched with space created by shapes to fit pens, a smartphone or tablet and series of multipurpose pockets. Both the “All in One” wallet and A4 Portfolio come in the classic Valextra calfskin and are easily able to carry close to the body with a leather wristlet.
And as style is always discovered within the fine details hidden within our daily dress, the Fall | Winter 2015 men’s collection finishes with an unparalleled line of new small leather goods, offering an infinite number of shapes, from the portfolio to the card holder and colorful calfskin iPhone6 cases. Objects which meet multiple tastes and all occasions are offered, turning every accessory into a discreet symbol of distinction.
The complete collection is presented in the Maison’s signature Pergamena white, the traditional Valextra green, smokey grey and a new exclusively created shade of Violet.
