MontBlanc “Black & White Weeks" Hong Kong 2015

Montblanc hosted a press conference to kick off the “Black & White Weeks” on 2nd June, 2015 at California Tower, the new landmark of Lan Kwai Fong, Central. “Black and White Weeks” occurred for the first time in the nineteen-twenties. Back then as well as today it has been an event to present exciting novelties of Montblanc. Montblanc has reactivated this meaningful event since last year, bringing yearly novelties from headquarters to HK as an exclusive preview for media and connoisseurs. This exhibition lasts for three days, exhibiting the maisons’ latest leather goods, watches, writing instruments and jewellery pieces during 2nd to 4th June. Highlights include the Meisterstück Selection Sfumato collection, the TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap collection and the Patron of Art Edition – Luciano Pavarotti collection. Especially the functioning model of the TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap is the first time ever revealed in the world, which becomes the event spotlight.

Mr. Julien Renard, President Asia Pacific of Montblanc, Mr. Giacomo Cortesi, Managing Director of Montblanc Leather Division and Mr. Alexander Schmiedt, Managing Director Watches Montblanc International were invited to present the novelties to the audience at the press conference, followed by a sharing and demonstration by celebrity models Ms. Jocelyn Luko and Mr. Anthony Sandstrom. The dazzling couple stunned the audience by delivering loving glamour wearing the watch and jewellery from the Montblanc Bohème collection and the Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed Chronograph e-strap respectively.

Mr. Julien Renard, President Asia Pacific of Montblanc, remarked, “This year we have showcased our latest cross-category products, ranging from watches, writing instruments, leather goods to jewellery for men and ladies. One of the highlight is the new leather collection Sfumato. It revisits a painting technique developed during the Renaissance by the great masters. Applying it to the treatment of leather, Montblanc innovates the new Meisterstuck Sfumato collection.”

Ms. Jocelyn Luko and Mr. Anthony Sandstrom were much amazed with the cross-category talents of Montblanc. Jocelyn said, “I am seriously considering to buy a Starwalker Urban Speed e-pen as a gift to Anthony as he loves gadgets and digital devices, not to mention that it will make a perfect match with the Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap on this wrist. However, Anthony’s heart also goes to the Meisterstück Selection Sfumato collection which can keep him company not only every day but also when he travels.”

Anthony said, “I think Jocelyn carries the Bohème watch and jewellery perfectly. They help to deliver her character and charisma as a chic, elegant and self-confident lady. ”

Meisterstück Selection Sfumato – A heritage originated from Renaissance

Montblanc has displayed a wide range of leather goods produced from its manufacture Pelleteria in Florence, including the major launch of a new collection Sfumato. It revisits a painting technique developed during the Renaissance by the great masters. Applying it to the treatment of leather, Montblanc innovates the new Meisterstuck Sfumato collection. “Sfumato” is an ingenious painting technique pioneered by Leonardo Da Vinci and his followers. Evident in Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, an atmosphere of great softness is achieved by masterfully blending areas into one another through the superimposition of many layers of thin paint with tiny brushstrokes to eliminate lines. Each piece of our Sfumato products is delicately painted by hand before it is assembled. Every bag, wallet or belt from the collection is completely unique.

The TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap watch carries a highly functional e-device on the strap to offer digital functionality such as activity tracker, smart notifications, remote control and Find-Me function in one. To provide further convenience to the owner, it can be connected to Android and iOS via Bluetooth.

Prada opens its ninth store in Hong Kong, inside the prestigious “Plaza 2000” in the Causeway Bay district.

The space, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, covers a total area of 1,320 square metres. The women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and footwear collections are presented on three floors.

The external façade, of remarkable visual impact, pays tribute to artist Carlo Cruz-Diez.

The large entrance, light boxes and windows are inserted into the lower part of the façade, which is clad in black marble and crowned by an imposing bronze and steel-coloured aluminium structure backlit to create a unique kinetic effect both day and night. Overall, the façade stands 15 metres tall and stretches 45 metres in length on both sides of the building, which is located on the corner of Russel Street and Canal Road East.

The entrance on the ground floor opens up on an area dedicated to the women’s leather goods, accessories and travel collections. The space is characterised by the signature black-and-white marble chequered flooring and green fabric-clad walls with alcoves exalting the product display. Ultra-slim polished steel cases and display counters with drawers covered in coloured saffiano leather complete the furnishing.

An imposing black elevator leads to the upper floors.

The second floor houses the women’s ready-to-wear and footwear collections. The area is defined by beige carpeting and green fabric-clad walls with polished steel-framed display niches. Transparent perspex display cases, crystal and steel tables and green velvet sofas enrich the space.

An elliptical black Marquinia marble staircase leads to the upper floor, where the men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and footwear collections are displayed. The space wields masculine materials and finishes: ebony floorboards and walls, and palladium display counters. Ostrich leather sofas and lush pony skin carpeting in the area dedicated to footwear complete the setting and lend an elegant atmosphere to the entire floor.

Michael Kors is pleased to announce the opening of its first flagship store in Hong Kong, located in the illustrious Fashion Walk on April 18, 2015. The flagship is the first to open in Hong Kong and will feature the full range of categories offered by Michael Kors Collection and MICHAEL Michael Kors.

“I’m thrilled to be opening a flagship in Hong Kong,” says Michael Kors. “Fashion Walk is an exciting shopping destination in one of the world’s great fashion cities. We wanted to provide the glamorous, sophisticated experience that’s at the heart of our brand and defines everything we design. I look forward to welcoming our customers to this fabulous new shopping environment.”

The shop, which measures nearly 5,000 square feet, will reflect the new design concept unveiled last year at the Jing’An Kerry Centre in Shanghai, including a shimmering exterior façade on the second floor, inspired by Michael Kors’ signature use of metallics and texture. The façade, designed by Michael Kors’ in-house design team, consists of luminous screens made of unique, light-reflective facets set within a grid of internally lit recesses. The effect is elegant and kinetic, evoking the light-catching allure of a sequined gown. The façade will also feature a large-scale video screen featuring fashion presentations and events, including live feeds.

The interior of the store will reflect the signature jet set glamour of the Michael Kors brand, with polished stainless steel fixtures, white marble flooring and Macassar wood used to create a luxurious and inviting atmosphere. Here shoppers can browse, try on clothes and consult with the store’s personal stylists in an ambience of calm and complete indulgence. This floor will also showcase a grand shoe salon. Valentino is pleased to announce the opening of its Canton Road Flagship Store in October 2014. Situated at Harbour City, Canton Road, the store is the House’s largest store in Hong Kong. To mark this occasion, a grand opening cocktail reception was hosted today.

An elite crowd of celebrities and socialites in town were invited to attend the cocktail reception. Celebrities including Siwon Choi, member of the South Korean boy group “Super Junior” and Tiffany Hwang, member of “Girls’ Generation", Bingbing Fan, Carina Lau, Bosco Wong, Pakho Chau, as well as Wyman Wong and Hilary Tsui were specially invited to attend the cocktail reception. Socialites in town including Daisy Ho, Anina Ho, Eric Ho, Andy Wong etc, also joined the opening cocktail.

The 900 square meter flagship store marks an important step in the development of Valentino’s worldwide retail network expansion, and it continues the innovative store concept developed by Creative Directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaol o Piccioli, together with David Chipperfield Ar chitects.

The store concept combines old and new in order to generate a Palazzo atmosphere, steering away from the pure showroom and promoting a new architectural format in place of a more traditional retail boutique structure.

Featuring a magnificent two-storey façade, the store is connected by an extremely sculptural stair in terrazzo and carrara, taking the customers on an ascending and rising tour. On the lower level, it carries the Maison’s complete collections, including both womenswear and menswear ready-to-wear and accessory collections, which are displayed in separated yet connected rooms. The menswear rooms feature terrazzo walls and palladiana floors, where the collections are displayed on oak shelving and hanging elements and supported by polished brass fixtures around the perimeter. These features incorporate LED lighting, allowing each shelf or display to be individually and almost invisibly illuminated. On the upper level is a unique and independent accessories space with terrazzo walls with shelves are attached for product display, which displays the complete Valentino Garavani womenswear collections such as handbags, shoes, sunglasses, scarfs, accessories and perfume.

The architecture is designed to complement the pieces on display, making use of a range of discreetly opulent materials – grey Venetian terrazzo with carrara chippings, timber, marble, leather, carpet and carbon fiber – to focus attention on the collections and also evoke a sense of intimacy.

The Canton Road Flagship store offers a one-of-a-kind brand experience and to cater to an elite clientele, serving both its male and female clients in a single location. The new global store concept for men’s and women’s accessories creates a shared personal atmosphere while still maintaining the brand’s fundamental values of craftsmanship, romanticism and classical style.
